Lathe Set Up Machinist

The Job:
In this position, you will be responsible for set up and programming our Lathe CNC turning center. This includes collecting necessary elements (tooling, fixturing, programs, etc.), installing elements based on setup sheets, producing a completed part and inspecting to ensure it follows the drawing dimensions.
What you’ll do:

Set up tooling and material inside machine based on image-driven setup sheet.

Navigate internal server to gather programs (PC based).

Utilize measuring equipment for in-depth inspection of initial part to approve for production.

Gather and set up tooling based on setup sheet.
-
Adjust offsets/edit program to produce in-tolerance part.

Identify potential risks that could jeopardize quality.

Aid operators in problem-solving production issues.

Utilize CAM software (Esprit/ Mastercam) to inspect part.

Utilize MRP system to log in/out of jobs.
Requirements and qualifications we’re looking for:

3-5 years set-up experience.

3 years blueprint reading skills.
-
Knowledge of G&M code.

Knowledge of general safety procedures/clear safety record

High School Diploma/GED or equivalent.

Basic math skills.
The best candidates will be able to:

Inspect and approve parts unsupervised.

Communicate with machinists, shift leads, and department manager.

Problem solve in a fast paced environment.

Read, write, speak, and understand English.

Lift 90 lbs.

Stand, walk, reach, crouch for 8-10 hours daily.

Work overtime when needed.
Bonus Points for:
-
Basic CAD/CAM knowledge preferred.
-
Live tooling and Y axis knowledge preferred but not required.

Knowledge of GD&T preferred but not required.
