About the Role

Quality is of utmost importance in the work we do. We are seeking a self-motivated and experienced

QMS Lead to oversee our Quality Management System and ensure compliance with AS9100 and ISO

9001 standards.


Reporting to the Quality Manager, the QMS Lead creates and maintains documentation pertaining to the

quality system, develops and leads the internal programs, manages the internal corrective action system,

prepares and delivers quality systems training, and leads periodic reviews of the system.


The QMS Lead is the primary contact for internal and external customer requests concerning product

compliance. The QMS Lead must be a clear and relational communicator, capable of training others and

collaborating with cross-functional groups of employees in maintaining and improving the quality system

and processes to adhere to AS9100 standards.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

● Responsible for overall maintenance, coordination, planning, evolution, and audits of the Quality

Management System (QMS)

● Executing internal audits to ensure compliance

● Work closely with department leads and shop manager to develop new processes; publishing

procedures and work instructions relating to internal processes and practices

● Work closely with Quality Manager to conduct external audits

● Onboarding customers in our QMS to ensure requirements are met

● Review acceptance criteria defined by customer documents to ensure appropriate inspection

methods and to identify and document any drawing or specification errors

● Provide leadership and assist with corrective action plans

● Administer QMS and quality practices training to QA and the rest of the shop

● Deliver presentations and document meeting notes.

● Motivate and coach the team to operational success, both in terms of quality delivery and

customer satisfaction

● Performs other duties as assigned by the Quality Manager

Requirements

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

● 3-5 years’ experience maintaining AS9100 standards in a manufacturing organization

● Minimum of 3 years participation in internal and external AS9100 audits

● Must have strong written and verbal communication skills to interface with all parties – customers,

vendors, colleagues, superiors, etc.

● Excellent problem solving, presentation, and communication skills

● Ability to work independently and prioritize workload and project schedules


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

● Certified Lead Auditor

● Knowledge of ISO 9001:2015, others as needed

● Experience in a precision machine shop environment

● Understanding of the Quality Inspection process, including calibration and measuring

● Experience working with an ERP system (bonus points for ProShop)
