CNC Lathe Machine Operator
Summary: Loading and unloading of parts on a CNC turning center after part is set up. Machine operators ensure the quality of the parts being machined throughout the run. Operators are responsible for accurate and consistent loading and reoccurring inspection practices.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Follow written and/or verbal instructions to load and unload parts.

Check parts using measuring equipment to customers drawing (micrometer, caliper, etc.).

Read and interpret customer specifications via supplied drawing.

Execute minor machine offset adjustments to ensure quality.

Identify and resolve part issues during production runs.
-
Clean/maintain equipment and work area.

Break down tooling/fixturing when job is completed.

Additional processing (deburring/sanding) of parts when necessary.
Qualifications

Required:
-
High School Diploma/GED or equivalent.

1yr experience on CNC machines.
-
1yr of basic blueprint reading skills.

Basic math skills.
-

Able to communicate with machinists, shift leads, and department manager.

Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.

Knowledge of GD&T preferred but not required.

Ability to problem solve in a fast paced environment.

Ability to lift 90 lbs.

Role requires ability to stand, walk, reach, crouch for 8-10 hours daily.

Knowledge of general safety procedures/clear safety record.

Basic knowledge of G&M codes preferred.

Ability to work overtime when needed.

Basic CAD/CAM knowledge preferred.

Familiar with standard concepts and practices in a machine shop environment.
